Is possible to switch back to old iphone with older iOS?

I need transfer data from iPhone 8 Plus (iOS 16.7) to iPhone 7 (iOS 15.6).

how to update iPhone 14 to latest iOS 16 before moving all your data from old phone It is my understanding that the new iPhone 14 phones will need to be updated to the latest version of IOS 16, whatever the version is once the phones start to arrive, immediately before you do your final set-up. If you want to transfer your data from an old phone using Quick Start would you need to set-up your new phone first then update the OS and finally erase the new phone and then run Quick Start using your old phone? Or is there a better way?

Transfer iPhones - same iOS version? When I transfer to the new iPhone 14, does my old iPhone need to be using the same iOS version?

Sorry, but no you can't do that. It's not possible to transfer the data from an iPhone running a higher iOS version than the older device has and your iPhone 7 is not capable of running iOS 16.

Maybe you can try with a work around? Like apps that can backup in a file that you can transfer between the iphones the files that you want, like contacts maybe?
