I have had SILK set to my text tone for years. With the last update it removes my sounds. When I went in to reselect SILK for my text tone the option is not there. I looked in the Classic option where it was before and it's not there. When I look under Ringtone in the Classic option it shows SILK but I can't select it for a text tone.
What happened with the last update to mix things up so bad? How can I get SILK back as my text tone?

Yes, Silk is missing. I don’t know why Apple removed it for text, but not for ringtone. You can suggest they return it, but the best place to suggest something to Apple is here→Product Feedback - Apple

Thank you Lawrence. Time to switch to Samsung. Going to my AT&T store to change to a new phone. So tired of Apples mentality of the not the customer first. Really...take away a dozen text tones but you leave them as ringtones? Not good.
If you’re switching to a different phone solely because of a text tone not being available anymore (no one knows if it’s intentional or if it’s a bug that Apple will address in an update at some point) then I hope you’re prepared for when Samsung does it like they have in the past among other changes that they don’t consult customers about. Nothing wrong with you switching but I really hope your reason is a lot more than SILK text tone not being available to you….and that you are much more tolerant of things aren’t exactly as you want throughout your ownership of the Samsung when they have a bug issue or choose to make a change when a new OS update is released.
I’m sure that whatever you get will be absolutely perfect and will never have any operational feature that is less than perfect.
