how can i download an older version of number for my 2015 MacBook pro running os 12.7?

I wiped my MacBook to give to a family member by removing and reinstalling the OS. unfortunately I did not realise it would remove numbers. If I go to the App Store to download numbers it is a new version and only suitable for OS 13 and later. How can I download an older version of numbers?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Since you have purchased Numbers at some time since October 2013, open the Mac App Store & hold down the option key while clicking the Purchases tab on your High Sierra Mac. If you see Pages, Numbers, and Keynote with Update/Install buttons, it may offer to download a previous version of these applications compatible with Monterey.

In Mojave and later releases of macOS, one must enter ⌘+0 (zero) to get to the previous purchases panel in the Mac App Store. This changed from the option+Purchases tab in High Sierra and earlier.

In addition to VikingOSX's reply in the other discussion, you may try this page and search for iWork. As of this writing the most recent version available was 9.3. Maybe it will offer to update it after installation.

Also to add to Peggy's comment, you gave the computer to someone else but in order to download your purchases you'll have to create a user with your own ID, at least temporarily.

I'm not sure if this old information is still valid but it might be worth checking.

If you did not link the pre-installed apps to your Apple ID when you set up a Mac purchased new (new-in-box from any seller) or purchased refurbished directly from Apple after October 1, 2013, see this support article about how to "accept" bundled applications on a new Mac. If you did link them, sign into the Mac App Store with that same Apple ID & check under the Purchases tab in the Mac App Store.
