Hi DirtyShoesz,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. First, we'd recommend making sure that Dolby Atmos hasn't been disabled unintentionally. The following from Listen to Dolby Atmos music on iPhone - Apple Support will help.
"Turn on Dolby Atmos
Dolby Atmos will play on any headphones, but not all speakers will play Dolby Atmos as intended."
If the same continues, test another pair of headphones. The issue might be isolated to the pair you've been using.
Kind regards.
This just happened to me too (iPhone SE 2000.) Another setting to include is: Settings > Bluetooth.
Under MY DEVICES press the i next to your headphones and make sure “headphone” is selected next to Device Type.
After the iOS 17 update I made sure all the previous Bluetooth and Music settings were still set accurately but still no Atmos playback. Tried this with two other Bluetooth headphones, still no Atmos playback. Thinking of reverting back to an iOS 16 version.
Yeah, same here with other headphones.
Using the "always on" in Dolby settings sonds bad actually.
I hope with IOS 17.1 it gets fixed, if its not, then i also will be reverting back to 16.
:(
Looks like 17.1.1 has fixed the problem for me anyway with third party usb headphones not playing back Dolby Atmos in Apple Music on iPhone SE2.
Oops! “usb” in my previous post should have been “Bluetooth”
