Apple Music Not Working With Family Sharing

I set up family sharing but Apple Music is not working, I’m being asked to join a plan. iCloud sharing is working so I know the family sharing setup correctly. Online articles state to check the ids. My ID is ABC. The family sharing ID (organizer) is xyz. If I look in Apple Music account settings the id is ABC. I’m assuming this needs to be xyz, but I can’t figure out how to sign out of Apple Music to log in as the organizer id. Please help.

Hi FamShareNotWorking,

First, you should not be signing into Apple Music with the ID of another member of the Family Share group. When purchase sharing is enabled, you will be given access to shared purchased and subscriptions through the Family Share group using your own ID, so long as those subscriptions are sharable and you both remain members of the group.

Being a member of a Family Sharing group does not automatically grant access to Apple Music. For that, a member of the group must have a Family plan and purchase sharing enabled. Apple Music outlines plan options and How to share apps and purchases with your family covers purchase sharing. If a member of the group has an Individual Apple Music plan, you would not be expected to access your own subscription without enrolling and billing that to the organizers payment method if allowed.

Regards.
