FaceTime record video tab not working

After updating to ios17 ,I tried calling a friend on FaceTime.the person was unavailable but I couldn’t record a video message for her tho the record video option was showing

iPhone 13, iOS 17

This is December 10th and they still haven’t resolved the issue I still can’t record a message on FaceTime when the person I’m calling isn’t available

although I’ve updated to iOS 17.1.2

I try tapping there but nothing shows

Same here. Waiting for Apple to respond concerning this. Just as in anything Apple we have to wait until they fix their own issues. I have the 14pro max and won’t get the 15 until they get out all of their kinks!
