Voice control unusable after iOS 17

The problem is Apple doesn't really care about people with disabilities. They don't test updates to see what impact it is on voice control. The representative helping accessibility people never get to talk to the developers they have no idea what they're doing. If you have a continuing problem and despite complaining about it and other people complaining about it they have no knowledge about it being a problem.

Disabled people or a low priority for Apple and it's very sad. These are minor changes that would be enormously helpful to people leading horrible lives but Apple chooses to pay attention to all these changes to their operating systems that are just crazy and no one uses this stuff

Accessibility hotline is very nice because they always pick up the phone but they have no knowledge about issues that have been ongoing for a while it's very sad. Again Apple does not care about people with disabilities otherwise they would do more and it wouldn't take much they already spend so much money on accessibility hotline people why can't they work better with the developers. Who are the developers why don't they care about people with disabilities these guys should be talking accessibility support and developers should be talking with each other . And it's clear the accessibility people as good as they try to be don't really use voice control which makes it even worse.

In summary Apple really doesn't care about people disabilities otherwise they would do a much better job

iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 17.1.2. Similar issue here... using phone with Focus Driving ON and Maps active with a route being followed. Ask Siri to "Send a message to X", Siri will respond with "What do want to say?" and in the middle of my response Siri will just quite.

I've been using this feature set for quite some time and with iOS 17 it has stopped working.

I'm experiencing the same thing. The issue is compounded for me because I have no use of my hands and rely on voice control for nearly everything associated with my phone.

I've also noticed that using voice control to type email is now nearly impossible. I get two or three words in before it stops responding.

I contacted accessibility but they have no Solutions.

The last upgrade (17) has completely disabled the use of my blind brothers phone! When he answers a call, voice over starts reading his messages, so he can’t hear what the caller is saying. After hanging up he asks voice over to read his new messages, it only reads the beginning and never finishes the whole message! This is disheartening for those who are blind. I googled suggestions regarding the problems with this upgrade and I can’t find any solutions. Anyone have any suggestions? Please help……

In regard to the multiple command update for Siri, I understand how that can be frustrating or take a long time when trying to use a shortcut. Have you tried to use siri to turn off voice control and then in the same interaction, while she is waiting, have Siri turn back on voice control? Does this make voice control respond after? On my device, voice control only stops listening when I really really need it, so I have not been able to test this myself just yet today. We'll have to wait until I get into a moment where I'm extremely incapacitated or otherwise involved in some dangerous activity, then my phone will necessitate use of my hands for sure, and I will be able to update you with what I have found out. They did not, but I've been using the same workaround as you, so I've gotten used to it. The mail issue is maddening, however, and continues to be simply unusable.
