Restart the iOS device with the HDMI adapter plugged in.

You’ll get a message about a firmware update needed ... it will download automatically.

Then you'll get the visual.

I’m calling BS to all of these “solutions”. Tried them all and still no signal. Disappointed and frustrated with Apple and the lack of support. Feel free to upgrade yourself into obsolescence. 🫡

Indeed. All one needs to do is:

Restart the iOS device with the HDMI adapter plugged in.

You’ll get a message about a firmware update needed ... it will download automatically.

Then you'll get the visual.

Indeed, Apple's Lightning to Digital AV Adapter firmware will be automatically updated by the iPad when needed.

The cable may not be forward compatible with newer standards and devices. I have a bunch of cables I bought from Best Buy over the years that won’t work with my Epson projector or new LG TV. But plug in my old Monster Cable and everything works.

LG has a test mode for cables. The cheap ones never pass.
