iOS 17.0.1

Hello.

I have two iPhones, one for me and one for my wife, both of them under the same Apple ID.

Until now there was no problem. Every phone had its contacts, had its own wallet etc.

Since I upgraded my phone to latest version iOS 17.0.1 I discovered the following issues.

  1. In the phone app all calls are merged. Now every call I make in my phone appears in the other and vice verse.
  2. In the wallet app all cards are merged from both iPhones.

Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Is there any way to solve it?

This is a well known problem which occurs when two or more humans share the same single Apple ID. It often escapes without getting noticed until one of the devices is restored from a backup, and the recovered data doesn't look right.

The only solution is each human has their own unique Apple ID. That means at least one of you needs a new ID, and the other either suffers with the mangled history, OR makes another new ID and the old (shared) one gets archived. The choice might be governed by how much purchased content is attached to the original shared ID.

You can use Family Share to maintain shared resources, but you MUST have your own personal Apple IDs to make the system work properly.
