IMAP command "APPEND" failed with server error: Quota Exceeded (took xxx ms)

I've seen my problem on previous threads here but none really understand or answer it effectively... The error message show in the description occurred when I implemented an email rule to move mail from my consolidated inbox (google and apple) into another folder. The rule worked and upon transferring the mail started giving me the error message. It does not say if the problem is file size or mailbox limit just that it fails for quota and then gives milliseconds. The problem is that there are probably hundreds of emails to transfer and only one by one "OK" buttons to push. I tried force quitting the email function via the apple icon with no success. The error message prevents me from deleting the rule and I cannot check anything in mail to investigate if it is due to file or inbox limitations. Apple really should have thought this feature through as I'm sure thousands have and will try this; especially those that are new to apple like myself. Can someone help as my email seems to be held hostage until I get through this rediculous activity.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.2
