ios 17 update results in weaker wifi and cellular reception on iphone XS

Since updating my iPhone XS to ios 17 I have weaker wifi and cellular reception; one bar lower on each. With the weaker reception I can still access the internet, but it's slower to load. And, some apps (e.g., banking) will no longer work: they state "no internet connection". In my office, I used to get 3 bars on each. Now, I'm getting one or two bars.

  • removing and re-inserting the SIM card adds one bar, but its temporary. As soon as I use wifi or cell for something the reception falls to what it was before.
  • toggling wifi on/off, or cellular on/off, has the same effect - a temporary improvement.
  • powering on and off makes no difference
  • resetting the Network Settings made no difference

Is there anything else I can try to change on my phone?

Is this something that could be fixed in a future update to ios17?

thanks for you help!

Just sell your iPhone

1: you will get less than expected when you trade in

2:the updates always don’t go your way and they want you to take classes

3:I’m going back to android sims job passed away apple has lost the plot
