Airtag sharing from child account

So it seems they only let you share air tags if you are an adult. If they are paired to a child account why can't I either see them automatically or they are allowed to be shared with family members. It's like you finally add a feature we've wanted for years and then don't give us the basic features we want. I'm going to call apple support to change the birthday to hopefully get this to work.
