Missing notch / screen is always being displayed below the notch

I have a strange issue with the display settings. I use my MacBook with an external monitor. Everything works fine until the screen goes off. When I wake the device up, MacBook's resolution is all messed up. I have a bold border around the screen and the desktop is displayed below the notch line (it wakes in a wrong ratio). It stays like that until I reboot my device. It's not a scaling setting (per app) though. It affects a whole desktop (not just an app). Changing the resolution settings doesn't help.

Here's how it looks like when it's broken:

and here when I reboot the device (everything looks good again, top nav is in the same row as the notch):

Is there any fix for that? I'd like to use all the available area without rebooting all the time. Thanks!

I managed to fix the issue. Figma App was causing it. :-)

You mention an external display, but your screenshots indicate that the problem happens when using just the built-in display.

As a test: start your mac in Safe Mode, and see if the same problem with sleep happens. If it does not happen in Safe Mode, then we will know that some third party software is involved. Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.
