IMac turns on, but when I turn it off, it wont turn back on

Hello! So recently I got my grandmothers old IMac and wanted to check out some photos (it’s an IMac g3) and so I turned it on then turned it off. Afterwards, I tried again, and it wouldn’t turn on. After a while it did work again, but the same thing happened afterwards. Any help is deeply appreciated! Thanks.
