I always turn my iMac off at the mains after shut down. However now when I turn power on at the mains my iMac turns itself on after a few seconds. Previously I always had to press the on/off button first at rear. Why is that? It only seems to be after the latest Ventura upgrade. My iMac is Intel not M chip if that is relevant.

I do not want the Mac to open when I am not at home. I emphasise when it is shut down and power off. Not sleep. If that is what you mean. I add that it does not happen when at sleep.

No, I’m not a sleep but shut advocate. However, shut from the macOS screen is enough - no need to do more.
