With family sharing, how do we see each other's AirTags in our iPhones (iOS v16.7)?

I don't see theirs and others don't see mine. Did we miss something? :(

Can you use air tags with family sharing? My wife set up an AirTag and unlike all the other devices in my family it doesn’t show up on my find my. Am I missing anything or do the AirTags not share across the family?

AirTag Sharing Is Not Available in iOS 16.7 One AirTag was successfully added to my wife’s iPhone 14 running iOS 16.7, she can track it, but can’t share it with me. Another AirTag was added to my ProMax 13 running iOS 17.3 with my valid Apple ID (not a child ID), and I see the Sharing button available, but couldn’t share with her due to two different iOS versions (at least I got a warning). Her phone is missing the Share button on AirTag, but she has her location sharing turned-on. This is not right, and so inconsistent, the community Q&A didn’t help that much. How can she change some setting(s) on iOS to let the Sharing button appear?

AirTag now showing up for person it is shared with. I have two AirTags that I have connected to my phone. These show up just fine for me in Find My on my phone. I share them to my son’s phone and they show up as listed items, but they say “No Location Found”. I have tried sharing to both his phone number and Apple ID email as well. Can anyone tell me why? We are both updated to iOS 17.1.2. I am on an iPhone 15 ProMax and he is on a 13. Needing some help getting this working! Many thanks.

Unfortunately, you can’t. (You didn’t miss anything)

Airtags can only be “seen” by FindMy on the trusted devices of the “paired” AppleID.

However, this behavior is changing in iOS 17.
