Microsoft 365 - How to select which plan you want? Option on the face of it limited to sole user.

Installed Microsoft 365 but sorting through Mac App Store. Apps downloaded and now trying to initiate subscription. Helping a friend who’s trying to install and set up a Family plan on his Mac.

He has Word, Excel, Powerpoint apps already on his system and now wants to subscribe (in a one-off payment) to a Family plan.

When he opens any of the apps it prompts him to subscribe, restore or continue to use as 'read only'.

The notification above the subscription message shows the annual price for a single user only. If selecting the subscribe option it prompts him to begin a one month trial. Does the option to choose a family plan come up after beginning the trial? He doesn’t want to commit to a single user account for a year! Any guidance would be appreciated!

I don't believe that Microsoft Office offers any one-time purchase options for more than a single user any more. The only multi user plans that I know of are Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Scroll down in the following link to the "Comparison" section for information on both subscriptions and one-time. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/buy/compare-all-microsoft-365-products

Also, I purchase or subscribe directly through Microsoft using the above link, hoping to avoid any finger-pointing problems between Apple and Microsoft if there are any issues.
