MacBook Pro wont accept my iPhone's lock screen passcode

i just got a new MacBook Pro, on macOS 13.5.1, and it keeps prompting me to update my Apple ID settings. I click into it and before I can proceed, I have to enter 3 passwords:

1) for my apple ID, which I get correct.

2) for my mac, which I get correct.

3) for my iPhone, which IS correct! But my Mac repeatedly tells me it is incorrect.

I have already covered the camera of my iPhone to force it to prompt for the 4-digit code, which i get correct and unlock my iPhone with. I have done this multiple times!! And when I go back into my Mac, it STILL says it isnt correct. I have tried clicking "don't know my password", which it then prompts me to pick another device, and my apple watch is not an option. So i cannot proceed!!

What am I doing wrong, if anything, and how do I proceed in order to update my apple ID settings?

MacBook Air, macOS 13.5

Screen Lock on a New Device:

I’m having a log in issue similar to this on my Mac. It’s nothing of a new device, but is rather the issue of logging in (after a macOS reinstall). I gave Apple a buz, and Apple told me that there is an error connecting to Apple’s server. So, something is going on at this very moment on their end.

You can try later on. But, if you try a log in incorrectly too many times, then you may end up having a locked Apple ID.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: [your name] (at the top of the screen)
  3. Tap: Sign In & Security
  4. Tap: Change Password
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

"MacBook Pro wont accept my iPhone's lock screen passcode: Well, i tried calling them, and they suggested that it could very easily be prompting for the passcode of a previous iPhone I had. I just typed in past passcodes I knew I had in the past, and that worked! Thank you again for your support!"
