Something is missing on my Music app preferences

I'm having a difficult time synchronizing my iTunes/Music library on my Mac with my iPad.

In searching around, I found this page of the Apple Support site. It looked like what I need as it shows a "sync library" option in the Music app's prefs (see image). The bad news is that my version of Music doesn't have that particular option (See next image)! The referenced article was published in Oct 2022.

I'm running Monterey 12.6.5 on a 2019 27" iMac

Music app is version 1.2.5.7

I've been scouring the web for a place to download a new Music app that has this option that will work on Monterey. Note that I have no desire to use Ventura as it has messed up its system preferences into an indecipherable mess (for me, at least). Any help on this would be gratefully accepted.

Sync Library option is only for Apple Music subscribers. To sync music from Mac to iPad see Sync your iPhone, iPad or iPod using your computer – Apple Support (AU)
