AppleTV 4K no audio when connected to my Sony TV

Hi All -

I just connected by AppleTV 4K over HDMI to my TV and while video works fine, Audio just won’t work.

TV on its own works fine, I can see and hear content outside of the AppleTV device.

However, as I switch to the HDMI input connected to the AppleTV video works but audio doesn’t.

I tried connecting with my AirPods and it all works great, video and audio. But the problem persists as soon as I disconnect the AirPods and I want to use the TV speakers. It just doesn’t work. (Video works fine).

I tried different HDMI cables, (different brands and models I had available). No luck.

Tried changing the audio settings (Auto, Dolby, stereo) no luck.

Tried hard resetting both TV and AppleTV (both unplugged from power outlet) no luck.

The only thing left for me is to try the AppleTV box on another TV and see if it works.

Any one had this issue or know of someone who has?
