How do I ask Siri to resume where I left off in Apple Music

How do I ask Siri to resume where I left off in Apple Music? I keep 2-3 audio apps open on my iPhone all the time and switch between them. If I ask Siri to play PodCast, it always picks up where I left off. The same for Pandora. If I say play Apple Music, or even if I say resume Apple Music, it always starts a whole new play list. It never picks up where it left off.

Hey unicitydavis,

Are you playing streaming content from Apple Music, or is it downloaded to your device? Do you notice a difference between either of those?

Have you tried to Restart your iPhone since this issue started?

If you haven't already, updating your device may help: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone or iPad

If the issue persists after you complete the steps above, try deleting and reinstalling the Music app: Delete built-in Apple apps on your iOS 12, iOS 13, or iPadOS device or Apple Watch. Keep in mind that when you delete the app, any downloaded music will be removed, so you'll need to re-download it after.

Feel free to post the results here.

Cheers!

I am normally streaming. For several years, I have never been able to successfully resume Apple Music from where I left off. That is, when I have switched to a different audio app and want to resume Apple Music.

I found that if I stay in Apple Music and first ask Siri to Pause, then I ask Siri to Resume, that works correctly, but I must stay in Apple Music for this to work.
