How to fix wind noise on the left side of AirPods Max?

After a year using my airpods max the left side start doing a wind noise.

The problem is present with the noise cancellation mode, but also the transparency mode. When the two modes are deactivated, there is no more this wind noise.

The warranty expired so they won't respond to me for a repair.

This is an issue I found with quite a few Apple devices

It is a defect with the mic from what I can tell

2 things that help

keep them away from moisntess which unfortunately includes sweat,
take off any case on the AirPod Max

how to fix

ask to have the mic fixed
make sure to put your AirPod max in their Apple case often this may seem dumb but the case actually puts the Max to sleep which resets a bunch of stuff
dont use the noise cancel in features 😔
