Apple TV 3 Gen. Connecting to Sennheiser Ambeo Max soundbar.

It starts with 4K HDR and Atmos available in ATV settings , but then it drops to 1080 HDR. Can’t understand if problem in ATV or soundbar… I used different high speed hdmi cables, but it starts with 4K and then drops to 1080, not even showing 4K as an option.

  • Verify that your HDMI cables are rated 18 Gbps or better (48 Gbps recommended for when both ends connect to a HDMI 2.1 port).
  • Verify that your Apple TV is set to 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 chroma, as 4:4:4 can exceed the bandwidth limit for 18 Gbps connections when streaming 4K+HDR+60Hz. This chroma setting will not diminish the video quality, as all streaming video is encoded 4:2:0 anyway.
  • Verify that the TV is set to allow high bandwidth streams over the chosen HDMI port (Enhanced, Deep Color, etc.). How it is named may vary by brand.
