automate send mail to junk

This is a suggestion for Apple Mail. Any time I put a received email straight in the junk without opening it I want Apple Mail to automatically apply that action to any further mail from the same domain.

As a safeguard I want a pop-up query window to ask if it's 'just this time' or 'always from this domain'

I cannot see why this could not be a standard feature of Apple Mail.

We really need to use tech to clear away pre-defined rubbish without it taking our own precious time. If it can't do that - how great it is really? Maybe spammers would eventually be discouraged, especially if the operation of 'auto-junk as spam' also triggered a spam reply (or several) to their wretched email accounts.

Anyone here agree? Anyone even reading this? Please share it if you feel as I do. Spam is a plague but as long as we don't have to see it (more than once per sender) it will be under control and tolerable.

Just my two cents.

Hi Paul V,

welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community.

Thank you for your "two cents" and your post ... yes someone is reading it, am the ninth person who has.

Am wondering which Mac OS version you have installed on your MacBook Air.

Apple support has "junk mail" suggestions for users of the Mail app:

The articles below are for MacOS Ventura, (for accurate info., you can change the Mac OS version at the top)

eg: "Mark messages as junk or not junk"

"Change options for managing junk mail and blocked senders"

Use Junk Mail Advanced settings in Mail to change the criteria messages must meet to be identified as junk mail, and the actions to take when that happens.

As we are all Apple users, like yourself, in this community, no-one here is in a position to implement your suggestion, and Apple will not see your post.

You may want to send feedback to reach those who work behind-the-scenes at Apple. They will likely not reply, yet your feedback will reach those who can makes changes.
