Location Services / GPS not working right, iOS16.6

been having this issue on an iPhone 14 pro and the latest gen iPad mini as well, since updating to iOS 16.6

I do not use a VPN. have factory reset both devices, but the issue persists.

spoke with apple support & they initially had me go through 100000 steps. issue persists. apps that use location services will work for a few min, but then abruptly stop. it is MADDENING.

spoke with apple support again today and now they're stating they are aware, and it will be fixed with the next SW update. this is just ridiculous. NOTHING that uses location services works unless you restart your phone, and even then it only works for a few minutes max.

Yeah, this is really bad. My devices are all over NA (apparently), even though every one of them is sitting in front of me. Today my iPad Pro is stuck in Toronto even though I’m in Seattle. Have to turn off auto time zone so I can set the correct time, but Maps still thinks I’m in Toronto.

The worse thing is that if you watch them in Find My, their locations periodically update and a different device shows as bering in Toronto. Once moment it’s my iPad and the next it’s my AirPods or iPad mini. I wish I could travel 2k miles that quickly. lol

Oh wow. On my iPhone and iPad, when I open Apple Maps, it just can’t find a location at all. Opening google maps will put me in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Weather app can’t find a location. Various apps that use location services just don’t work at all. Restarting the phone will fix the issue for a minute or two, but then it’ll stop working again at random. Really very frustrating. Seems like there’s a small set of people impacted by this, which is even more bizarre. Really hoping for an update soon. I recently went out of the country and this was a massive pain. I do videography work and couldn’t fly my drone without restarting the phone each time (drone app requires gps to takeoff). Not to mention the hassle of just navigating around a new city. Smh.

Turn OFF the VPN and then restart your iPhone. If that does not help, then delete the VPN app and restart your iPhone. See if that helps.

Same here. 16.6 has broken all of my apps that rely on location services. Especially all map apps. Can’t navigate anywhere with my iPhone. Serious bug and they need to patch it asap
