Macbook Pro M1 14” 2021 Foggy/Blurry Screen
My laptop was working when I opened it for 5 minutes and then it suddenly shut down. Restarting it, the screen appears foggy/blurry even after several tries. I called Apple and they had me scheduled to the nearest service center. During my first diagnosis, the authorized service provider here in the Philippines is claiming that it was because of liquid damage since they found corrosion inside my laptop and a torn display flex. They were quoting me $900 so I just had my device pulled out. After two months of using it through an external monitor, the main display started working again. And now I had it checked again just to see if I had the wrong diagnosis from the first service provider. I contacted Apple and they told me they're happy to answer the parts that need to be replaced but I have to get it checked again to another service provider and pay for the service fee. Before handing it to the service center I told them that Apple is willing to cover for the parts and now they found more issues regarding my laptop and wanted to quote Apple $1500. I don't think service providers are reliable enough in the third world countries.
Do you think my laptop is really damaged because of liquid? I never spilled anything to it and I have seen several cases with the same model encountering a foggy display. This is not a one-case problem only. I hope Apple evaluates this and I hope they are willing to cover despite the “corrosions” seen.
