Smart Tempo Rushing/Dragging

When I import a song into Logic and analyze with Smart Tempo, Logic sometimes gets confused, and a section of the song will occasionally rush super fast or drag super slow. Deleting tempo information and re-analyzing doesn't help, and I'm not sure how to fix it using flex markers. To be clear, there are no tempo list changes, and I'm using Apply Project Tempo To Region and Downbeat command. The current song in question is Donna Summer's "I Feel Love," which obviously has a great big four-on-the-floor kick, so not sure how it's getting thrown.

Is the answer, "this is why people use Ableton for this kind of thing"?
