External monitor only works with power plugged in

I recently bought a keyboard and trackpad because i didn't want to use the screen on my macbook.

However, the external monitor only works when i have the power plugged into the usb-c dock. Which is odd because when i have my macbook screen open, the monitor works fine without the power plugged in.

When using both monitors as hdmi monitors, I have no problems. Perfect... But when using it in this manner, I do lose the usb features of the usb c connection. Any ideas as to why the usb c connection is so flakey? Thanks

External monitor flickers through HP G5 dock I have a MacBook Pro 1029 Intel i9, it is connected to a HP G5 dock via the USB-C connectors. The G5 is connected to an external monitor, I have tried both HDMI and DisplayPort. In both cases, the external screen flickers, turns off and on every few seconds. A second monitor is connected through an adaptor on the MacBook (+HDMI) and has no issues, so it has something to do with the G5 Dock. I can not update the firmware as there is no iOS software on the HP website. Is there a way to fix it?

External monitor not connecting to 2021 MacBook Pro 14" through docking station I have a Wavlink docking station that's connected to my Mac via USB-C cable into the Mac Thunderbolt port. I want to connect my external monitor to my Mac through the docking station instead of plugging in directly to the Mac. Right now I'm getting a blank screen when the HDMI cable is plugged into the docking station. I have a wireless mouse that's plugged into the docking station (USB-A) and it's working. How can I fix this? O/S is Venture 13.2.1 Thanks!
