I am trying to clean up my inbox by searching frequent emails, selecting all and hitting delete. The emails return after my first attempt to delete and I a forced to repeat the delete step to remove them from the inbox. Is there a faster way to do this?

In order to delete mail from your Mac, follow these steps:
on your Mac, select a message.
in the Mail toolbar or move the pointer over the message’s header, then click the Delete button that appears.Tip: To prevent the next message in the list from being automatically selected (and marked as read), press and hold the Option key when you delete the message.
