hide the Finder and Trash icons from MacOS doc

I need a simple way to hide the Finder and Trash icons from the doc.

These days Spotlight search is so good, I don't use the Finder or Trash icon to open those apps. They are a waste of space and inflexible when I want other apps to show up in a specific order.

Its 2023 and I'm refreshing this conversation for Apple Silicon Macs.
