Please tell me there’s a way that I can archive many of my text messages without having to delete them. I find it hard to believe that this feature is still not available after all these years. Surely I can’t be the only one that has an abundance of text messages that I don’t need to see every time I open up the app ! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Android phones have had native archiving capabilities forever and still do. For as much as these phones cost and as much as they marketed as the cutting edge of technology, something this basic should be a core feature not a 3rd party app feature.
For those that claim use the filters that is not a solution. I don’t want to filter out all unknown senders. I don’t want to see all the alerts from my physician but nor do I want to delete them. I want to archive them and if a new one comes it is visible in my inbox without having to change the filter. I can then also compare to past alerts. After that I want to archive, not delete!

There may be third-party solutions that allow you to archive or offload messages. You may want to see what's out there.
