Can't Reset HomePod. Option on instruction not work.

Hi,

I have a similar issue but after the 3rd step, I don’t hear Siri. So the red light flashes forever.

This problem occured after some update. I think it was iOS 17.2 or 17.3, not quite sure.

Any idea?

You really have to pay attention to the timing. Wait a bit longer once the red light comes on.

1. Unplug HomePod or unplug the power adapter for HomePod mini. Wait 10 seconds, then plug HomePod back in.
2. Wait 10 seconds, then touch your finger to the top of HomePod and hold it there.
3. The white spinning light will turn red. Keep your finger down. 
4. Siri will say that your HomePod is about to reset. When you hear three beeps, you can lift your finger.

if it’s a HomePod mini you could restore it on a Mac. Which model is it?

I have the same problem where the red light swirls around forever. I never get the three beeps. I’m curious if you ever found a solution to this. The Genius Bar was not able to help me. Thanks.

I suspect the HomePod might not be running the latest software? These used to be the old instructions. latest OS is currently 16.6
