Pages keeps giving me a "wrong password" error, when I know for a fact the password is correct

Hi everyone.

Like the title says, I want to open a Pages document I recently opened, but it keeps telling me the password is incorrect. I know for a fact this is not the case because not only do I use the same password in other documents, but also, I very recently opened that document with no issues.

I don't know what to do and I need access to that document.

This is happening on both my iPad and my iPhone.

Any advice?

Well, of course I have tried that and like I said, the password worked recently, not anymore. Hence me asking here.

I see. I did do that and nothing worked. I don't have a Macbook, I created this file with my iPad and would access them on my iPhone sometimes. Last time I was able to open it was less than a week ago. Other files with the same password are doing ok. I also had Touch and Face ID enabled in this file

There is no resetting the document password without the correct password being used in the process, nor can Apple magically reset the password for you on a Pages document. Recycle power on your iPad and iPhone, and try again.

Recycle power means power your devices off and then turn them back on again. That may or may not make a difference.

Was the password on this document set on a Mac (same user) and by choosing to remember the password in that Mac's keychain? Any chance that one or more of the password characters was a difference case than you recall?

I recommend you access the file on the same device where you set the password and try again. Otherwise, as I mentioned in my initial response, there is no recovery solution for a password protected file where you cannot match the password it is expecting.

What do you mean by "recycle power"? Also, like I said, I know for a fact the password is not incorrect, I opened the document recently and no issues until now.
