Safari tab groups did not restore after system erase and reinstall

I had to erase my disk and reinstall to get rid of rogue system files that were slowing down my MacBook. I logged in with my Apple ID when booting for the first time, but my Safari tab groups have all disappeared. Safari was ticked to backup to iCloud, so I am not sure what has happened. Is there any way to get all my tab groups back?

How do I delete all tab groups in Safari? I don't know how it happened, but I can't use Safari on any of my devices due to it being bogged down with over 1200 tab groups. I checked my cameras at home and sure enough one of my cats sat on my keyboard and somehow created over 1200 duplicate tab groups, each containing over 380 bookmarks. I have tried turning off iCloud syncing. I am unable to delete any tab group individually as it just freezes the computer. How can I delete all tab groups simultaneously? Thanks!

No bookmarks in existing Safari Tab Group Favorites I recently upgraded to macOS Sonoma 14.4.1. When I went to use my Safari Tab Groups, all of the bookmarks had been removed, although the titles for the groups were still listed. My tab groups contained quite a lot of useful material and I would like to restore the links. Is there a way to repopulate the tab groups. I am not an iCloud user, but manage my backups locally with Time Machine.

There doesn't seem to be a way to restore those tab groups. You can, however leave feedback for Apple and request a feature here:
