Iphone 12 pro wont charge unless i restart the phone with charger plugged in

i just updated to ios 16.6 and Iphone 12 pro have been working fine for a few days but now when i charge the phone after a long time it doesnt charge. it shows charging but it doesnt charge and drops the charging instead. now if i restart the phone with charger plugged in it works fine

I did the same thing with a samsung phone cause i was low on battery and plugged it in as a last ditch effort to save battery and surprisingly the battery stopped going down but now every day i have to restart the phone at least once cause it just stays at the same battery level when i plug it into my charger. did you ever find a way to fix it?
