Are my airpods fake?

I was sold some second hand airpod Pro's for an unrealistically low price. Many of the signs point towards them being counterfeit, Such as the case being shiny,and the hinge being low quality.. However they are showing up as genuine when linked to my iPhone, giving me a serial number and a purchase date etc and also showing up in FindMy.

The serial number for the case checks out on the apple Web page but the serials for both the left and right pods are not recognised.

I'm very confused and if someone could shed some light on this I would very much appreciate it

Genuine AirPods:

If they are not recognized by the Serial Number, then they are fake --period.

Yes I had established this somewhat, I'm more directing my confusion towards the fact they show up within the iPhone as a legitimate product, there is no flagging for counterfeit as would be expected, and they are also automatically linking themselves with the FindMy app. I was unaware that counterfeit hardware was capable of doing that.

From what you've reported, they are not counterfeit (IOW "Ungenuine"). So, you are fine from here.
