New 4K AppleTV remote will not turn LG tv on and off
I’m setting up a new 4k appleTV on my LG TV.
he remote controls the volume but will not turn the TV on or off.
Any ideas?

Verify that CEC has been activated on both devices. LG may use its own trade name for that (SimpLink).

For the TV: See its manual.
Also note that the power button may need to be pressed down for slightly longer, to distinguish from accidental touching.
