Return found apple watch to owner

Hi I rang support and got no progress..... please help!

An apple watch has been in "lost-and-found" for months.

This is a Apple Watch 6 model A2292

Serial number: GY****1RP

Authentication account: b*****@icloud.com

I work at SETU university in Carlow Ireland where it was handed in during the year.

I would like to get it back to the owner, or at the very least, get a notification email, sent to the owner to let them know, it is here and can be reclaimed.

Am I wrong to think his seams like a very basic customer service request to ask Apple to do?

The watch is not connected to wifi and cannot, so how will a find my watch notification pop up?

There is no medical ID option as the watch appears reset, i only found the b*****@icloud.com

by trying to connect it to get details etc.

There is no way to find the owner's identity. Apple does not have an accessible database of lost items or owners, and for privacy reasons (and compliance with data protection laws) would be unable to disclose any information.

All you can do is leave it with University Lost Property. Sad, but after the delay you mentioned that is probably the end of the watch's career.

Of Course Apple has a database!!!

Otherwise you wouldn't be an authenticated user.

The fact the watch can tell me it's authenticated to an account of b*****@icloud.com, Apple could easily go just go one step further and give me the full iCloud mail (without the asterisks) and i could contact them directly.

Or even better, for the company that values it's customers, Apple could contact them directly and just forward my original unedited post, with the location and phone Ext number given.

There's more to be gained here by Apple, PR wise.
