USB C to DP cable, which type?

I need to order a USB C to DP cable to connect up my second display. I was about to put in an online order when I spotted the words "this cable will not work with Apple M2, needs chipset update", which stopped me ordering. Virtually all the cables listed specified Mac Mini 2018 or later, but I gather the M2 is a new beast. How do I know whether the cable I order will work? Obviously they all have the correct connectors on the cable but what is it that makes some of them incompatible?

What Display do you have?

What cable were you looking at?

To be on the safe side, you should spend $20 and get an 8K USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

The display is a Samsung LU28R550UQUXEN
