AirPod Announce Notifications Too Loud

Announce notification volume is extremely loud regardless of volume level on AirPods.

Found a fix. For me, I had my AirPod in and my iPhone locked. Waited for a text message to come in and as soon as my AirPods started announcing the notification, I unlocked my iPhone and turned the volume down while notification is still being announced over AirPods. This has fixed the issue. I wanted to post this as I have not seen a fix anywhere. If it helps, have a friend text you a long message so you can adjust the volume level while the notification is playing. Hope this helps!

I found a workaround for this issue. If you go into settings > Sounds and haptics > Headphone safety, you'll see a "Reduce loud sounds" setting that I am assuming is disabled by default, since mine was off. Enable that setting, and use the slider to control how high or low you want to sed the decibel level. This did the trick for me.

Edit: I created this account specifically to answer this question. This bothered me for weeks and I was so glad to find a fix. Hope this works for you and anyone else who reads this.
