“Rain” background noise…

I have selected “rain” background noise in my Airpod Pros. However, after listening to voice messages or after a call is placed/received, the phone will switch the setting to “off” and I have to go back into Settings/Accessibility/Airpods and re-select the background noise feature. SO frustrating. Is this user-error or Apple-update worthy?

This is a super late reply, but I just found this feature and am having the same concern. My workaround was to set up an Accessibility Shortcut so you can triple-click the lock button and it will toggle the feature on or off. It is a lot quicker than going through all the settings menu. Hope this helps someone else out.

Hi there TRENCHGod,

It sounds like you may need to adjust the 'Use When Media is Playing' setting for this feature to ensure it's working after listening to other audio on your device. Learn how below:

1. Wear your AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.
2. On your device, go to Settings  > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > Background Sounds, then turn on Background Sounds.
3. Set any of the following:
* Sound: Choose a sound; the audio file downloads to your device.
* Volume: Drag the slider.
* Use When Media is Playing: Adjust the volume of the background sound when your device is playing music or other media.

You'll find this information here: Play background sounds on AirPods - Apple Support

Take care.

Hello and thank you for the suggestion. The concern is when the background noise is playing and a phone call comes through. The noise is correctly silenced but when the call concludes, the noise does not resume. When I check the settings, Background Noise is in the off position and I have to turn it on again. Is there a way to make it resume automatically after a phone call?
