How to sync contacts from iPhone to iPad
I am loading up my brand new IPad. My contacts and calendar are not in sync with my phone; how do I link them and keep them in sync?

Both your iPad and iPhone must be signed-in to iCloud with the same AppleID. Assuming that they are, ensure that you have enabled Contacts and Calendar in iCloud (and any Apps and services that you wish to synchronise) in settings on both devices:
Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > [Apps Using iCloud] Show All >
- Contacts - set to ON
- Calendars - set to ON
