Keyboard shortcuts to get to desktop

I'm a new macbook user (from windows environment). It's frustrating the heck out of me that I can't get to the desktop with keystrokes. I've tried Fn F11 and Cmd F3. The swipe thing works, but I should be able to do this with keystrokes. Thanks!

Keyboard shortcut not changing back to normal since updating to macOS Ventura. While running macOS Monterey (Macbook Air 20222) I change my keyboard shortcut 'show desktop' to the 'left Command' key. After installing macOS Ventura I can't change it back to the normal mode, thus whenever I press the left Command key it shows the desktop, making any other tasks with Command key not working. When checking in settings it shows it as normal, but in reality everytime I click left Command the desktop is showing up. Thank you for your help!

Is the Mac using the Shift-Space shortcut? I have an app which allows a lot of customization by defining keyboard shortcuts. I had defined F1-F6 and noticed only F5 didn't work - the solution to that was visiting my Keyboard/Shortcuts system preferences and unchecking the box that mapped Show Desktop to F5. I'm easily able to define Space to perform a given function, but not Shift-Space. I saw no shortcut predefined for Shift-Space in the system preferences - does anybody know if the Mac is hogging Shift-Space for anything? I'm on Monterey using a 2019 MacBook Pro.

How can I control a Mac on OS7 with Just a keyboard? Hello, So i have a Mac SE and i only have a keyboard. I have been trying to navigate the system but It doesn't seem to let me tab onto the top bar or select items on the desktop. thanks for reading

It should be just F11 unless you set the keyboard settings to use the function keys as function keys.

By default, that is off and the F-keys do what the symbols show. If you hold down the fn key you get the F-keys instead of the function.
