I am unable to drag and drop more than one contact at a time into numbers. Contacts are properly selected, dragging onto an existing numbers spreadsheet, and then a contact card icon bounces back to the contacts app.

Hi, and thanks for the reply! :) While I did experiment with drag-drop groups, that is not the issue. Rather it is an inability to handle more than one drag-drop item at a time.
I ended up purchasing Exporter for Contacts 2 which nicely resolves this problem.

Dragging multiple individual contacts within a group, as opposed to the group name itself, works well here in Ventura 13.4.1 and Numbers 13.1.

You cannot drag-drop a group. You need to select all the contacts within the group and drag-drop them, which can be done together. Is that the problem you are having?
It works here. I'm still on Monterey. Maybe something broke with Ventura.
