Export contacts using Numbers Does Not Work

Trying to drag contacts to a Numbers sheet doesn't work. The little contact card icon just springs back to Contacts. I read that Copy and Paste could work, but every time I do that, Numbers crashes. And, I do have the Privacy setting to share Contacts with Numbers. I had done this type of export about two weeks ago and it worked. What's changed?

UPDATE: I can drag and drop one at a time, I can drag and drop a small group of 15-20, but at some larger number like 80, it doesn't work. Lastly, it's ONLY dropping the First Name and the Work Email. I need the other fields to evport.

I found an issue that was preventing me from exporting large numbers of contacts this way: contacts with generic field names were not exporting and holding up the process. E.g., some of my contacts had generic field names, like "phone", "email", and "address", instead of the typical/specific, "mobile", "home", "work" labels.

I found the offending contact cards by systematically and recursively dividing my list of contacts and trying to export. Once an offending/"corrupt" card was found, I edited its field names to match the typical/specific field labels. And viola! I can now export the entire list at once. 😊

A problem with trying to export in batches is that not all contacts use the same fields and you end up with mismatched columns. It's better to find and fix the offending cards and then export the entire list at once.

I hope this helps others!
