HomePod 2 cuts out constantly

So I’ve bought a HomePod 2 and and have an iPhone 14 pro. Both are fully updated and always updated.

There is some crazy insane bug with this system.

So when playing music from my phone if I clear the music app from my screen the sound stops, but when I open the app then track is actually still playing. Clicking play/stop does nothing. The only way to make it play is by cueing the track forward or back and this doesn’t work all the time.

Next when music app is open and phone is locked, when opening again the phone the music stops but track is still playing as above and to make it play again is the same tedious procedure.

Next if music is playing and the app is not on screen when I click the music app the sounds stop and track is still playing and the same procedure to make it play.

What is going on with this? It’s driving me insane. I can’t listen to an album or even one track without it cutting off constantly.

This happens whether streaming or playing a file that I’ve download, and also happens no matter what sound quality settings I am using, atmos, no atmos etc. None of it makes any difference. Yet it works perfectly with my AirPod pro 2s

That is crazy and I have not come across this before. The two things I would do if you have not done it already are:

  • Force Restart your phone. It takes a couple of attempts to get the key sequence timing right and the last step of holding the side button can take up to 30 seconds before you will see the Apple Logo to release the button.

  • Reset HomePods
