iTunes sync imported music files to 2nd iPhone

I have an iTunes library of imported music files on my PC. I open iTunes (just updated) and then when I connect the iPhone 13 (iOS 16.2), it immediately asks me if I want to start as a new phone or backup from one of 4 old iPhone backups. When I cancel out of that and select File/Devices the Sync is grayed out and the little device graphic that is supposed to be at the top is not there. I just want to sync my imported music files to this iPhone 13, which does have a different Appleid than my iTunes account. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi 10S247,

Clicking "Set up as new iPhone" will allow you to follow the rest of the steps in: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

This will not erase the contents of the iPhone, it is basically telling your PC this is a new iPhone to the PC itself.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey 10S247,

We'd recommend reviewing this article as it provides your options for syncing content between iPhone and iTunes on PC: Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

"Sync or remove content using iTunes

  1. Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Click the device icon in the upper-left corner of the iTunes window. Learn what to do if you don't see the icon
  3. The device icon in the upper left corner of the iTunes window.

  4. From the list under Settings on the left side of the iTunes window, click the type of content that you want to sync or remove.* To turn syncing on for a content type, select the checkbox next to Sync.
  5. The checkbox next to Sync Music in iTunes.

  6. Select the checkbox next to each item that you want to sync.
  7. Click the Apply button in the lower-right corner of the window. If syncing doesn't start automatically, click the Sync button.

* You can only sync your device with one iTunes library at a time. If you see a message that your device is synced with another iTunes library, your device was previously connected to another computer. If you click "Erase and Sync" in that message, all content of the selected type on your device will be erased and replaced with content from this computer."

Thanks!

Yes I read all of those prior to starting to beginning this synch process. The first screen shot you show above under your step 2, shows on my screen for a brief second with the device graphic visible. And then with no input from me, it goes to the screen shot below, (which is not a step in any of the sync help guides)When I select not to continue, it returns me to the initial screenshot but now with no device recognized. If I select to continue as a new phone what happens then? I don’t want to reset or erase anything on the phone as it is not a “New iPhone”. Thanks.
