AirTag not updating location

AirTag won’t update the location of the AirTag when it is out of the home or not with me. Example, my husband has the AirTag and he has an iPhone 14 pro max with all correct settings on. His phone should update the location of the AirTag and I should be able to see it in that location on the map. Problem is, the location always remains at the home address unless I am with the AirTag. It does not work very frustrating.

Hmm, in theory when you do not have the AirTag with you, another iPhone (in this case, your husband's), with "Find My Network" enabled, should be able to pick up the AirTag's Bluetooth signal. In turn, as long as his phone has either a cellular or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet, it will then forward the AirTag's location to the Apple servers ... and finally, you would see that location in the Find My app on your phone or in a web browser on a computer.

There is no GPS functionality with the AirTags; they rely solely on Bluetooth for sending the location information.

Is this a new AirTag? Is is associated with your Apple ID? You don't both share this ID, do you?

instead of removing the battery, remove the airtag from your account and then add it again. I apply this solution already twice.

my cat can't be found because of this bug. Every day I have notifications that my cat is detected at my home instead of giving the real location. Very frustrating. I need to find my cat to be able to correct the bug that prevent me to find my cat... So stupid and support can't do anything.
