HomeKit family Share

Is there any way one can restrict access to certain devices within HomeKit. I don't want my child to change AC settings or home camera setup but she can play with the lights and other devices.

Sharing specific rooms in homekit my entire house runs on home kit, I have guests that come and need to control things from their phone but there are no permissions in HomeKit. When I share with a guest who should have access to living room, bathroom they also have access to video, all rooms and sensors even climate control. This really does not make sense to me and it just requires a little update. Everyone is going IoT but it should also be more secure where I have granular control of permission assignments. We should be able to create groups and assign permissions by groups and also assign permissions individually.

How to only share individual HomeKit devices/ rooms? How can i share just one or more devices instead of the whole house? Garage door in apartment building, door of several houses, common underground parking, etc. Parents want to give children permission to control their room but not the bedroom. Hello Pandit68,

To my knowledge there is no way to restrict certain Accessories to certain Family Share members.

It's not the solution you're looking for, but iOS 17 (coming this Fall) will have a log (history) of who was messing with the device if that helps!
