Wondering which Mac or device you use the AirPods with,
and
which iOS. iPadOS or MacOS you use AirPods with.
Eg: Could the microphone be "muted" when using those apps ... if so you can just "unmute".
You may need to allow the Whatsapp App to use the microphone in your settings.
Else: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support
